As part of our 'World Around Us studies, Y5 have been finding out about 'Hot and Cold' places in our world.
Today we worked collaboratively in small groups of 3/4 children. We were allocated an animal that is endemic to either of the polar regions. We had to use iPads and computers to try and find out as much as we could about animals and their habitats. We focused on the countries we would expect to find the animal, their typical food or diet and how their bodies adapt to the extreme living conditions of each polar region.
Each member of the group had to research an aspect on their particular animal and report their findings to their group leader. The group leader then had to disseminate their group's findings to the whole class collectively.
