Today for our Play Based Learning, the children spent time in the Eco-Garden. The children explored and played whilst staying safe in their sun hats. 🧢
Afterwards, we carried out an experiment to show how sun cream helps to protect us against the UV rays that the sun has. Brody and Katie both had a sun draw on their hands using a ‘security pen’. We then shone the UV torch onto their hands to see the suns. Afterwards, Brody had sun cream put on his hand whilst Katie had regular moisturiser put onto hers. When we shone the torch back onto their hands, we could no longer see Brody’s sun! This showed us that sun cream effectively blocks out the sun’s rays and helps to keep us safe in the sun. ☀️
