We have been exploring the properties of wool, wood, glass, plastic and metal, and how these are used every day.

We made bookmarks from wool.

We wrapped wool around card.

After wrapping the wool around the card we decorated the bookmarks with jewels.

We read 'Stick Man' by Julia Donaldson and decided to go for a walk and make a journey stick.

The Ladybirds made their journey stick by attaching interesting items on a stick.

The Bluebirds found lots of interesting materials for their journey stick.

The Frogs were delighted to find twigs, feathers and paper for their journey stick.

Great construction work using the plastic bricks on the building site.

We investigated which materials would float or sink in water.

We recorded our findings on an investigation plan.

We found out that glass objects sink to the bottom.

We discovered that wooden things float on top of the water.

We brought in objects from home to make a collection for each material.
