This year, Mrs Murphy's Year 4 class celebrated World Book Day and 100 years of Roald Dahl by wearing yellow which was his favourite colour! It was lovely to see such a bright, sunny class especially when the sun came out.
We had a great day learning about Dr. Seuss; who he was and some of the books that he wrote. We read a variety of Dr Seuss stories as part of our literacy activities and concentrated particulary on the rhyming words used throughout the books. We discovered that his writing is very unique and a lot of the words were made up!
We completed lots of exciting follow up activities including craft - we made our own Hot Air Balloon just like the ones in 'Oh the Places you will go!' and thought about the places we want to go to.
Most important of all though, we had lots of fun along the way!
